It is with immense pleasure I welcome the young minds, the future of knowledgeable society to School of Basic & Applied Sciences, a constituent school of SGRR University established under Government of Uttarakhand Act No. 03 of 2017 and focussed on imparting value based multidisciplinary holistic education par excellence.The School of Basic & Applied Sciences offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes to students in the field of Basic and Applied Sciences such as Botany, Chemistry, Zoology, Physics, Mathematics, Geology, Environmental Science, Biotechnology and Microbiology.
The School provides an opportunity for the students to choose professional and basic academic courses with different combinations in B.Sc. providing an ideal platform to pursue a career in research and higher education. The School also offers Ph.D. programmes to students in these disciplines. The postgraduate students are encouraged for pioneer research in reputed labs/organization for internship/industrial training/dissertation/project work viz., BARC, ONGC, WII, ZSI, FRI, USERC, BSI, IIP, CIPLA, ITC, Britannia Ltd. etc. Every year the school also organizes extra-curricular and cocurricular activities, workshops seminars, webinars, field excursions etc. for the up gradation of students and faculties and the School has its own students council “The Anthelions” which help organise and encourage maximum participation from the students. The past several years have seen most of our students excel in their respective discipline either in the area of competitive examinations like NET/GATE/SLET etc. for entry in higher education institutions or qualifying in Govt. /private jobs. We are proud of the progress of our students and in future, shall continue to provide knowledge, skills and competencies specifically required in the field of higher education.
As we look ahead to the new academic year and move forward with zeal and enthusiasm my very competent teachers, under the aegis of Shri Guru Ram Rai Education Mission Shri Darbar Sahib, shall spare no efforts and leave no stone unturned to help promote holistic development of the students which will help them reach greater heights professionally and also help them become responsible citizens of India known for its rich values, culture and heritage.
