sgrru

A Geological field tour to Jaipur, Rajasthan, was organized for the MSc Geology students as a part of the course curriculum. The primary objective of the tour was to provide practical exposure to various geological formations, structures, and mineral resources in the region, supplementing classroom learning with field-based observations. The Jaipur region, nestled in the eastern part of Rajasthan, offers a unique window into the geological evolution of the northwestern Indian shield. This excursion was designed to provide hands-on learning about the lithological, structural, and geomorphological features characteristic of the Aravalli Range and its environments. The Aravalli Range, one of the oldest mountain systems in the world, is composed primarily of Proterozoic rocks, exhibiting a complex history of sedimentation, metamorphism, and tectonic deformation. The primary objective of this field trip was to bridge the gap between theoretical geological knowledge and practical fieldwork by observing and interpreting natural rock exposures, structures, and landforms.
