Course Overview

Physics is the branch of science which is extremely important for laying the foundation of a future scientist and researcher. The study of Physics deals with the properties of matter and their relationship with energy and forces. The study of physics can be divided into classical physics, relativity, and quantum mechanics. Classical physics concerns everyday sizes and velocities. Relativity concerns large objects and high velocities, while quantum mechanics concerns extremely small sizes and distances. Both areas use complex and high-level mathematics.

The Department of Physics is dedicated to impart quality Physics education to studentsby introducing latest curricula based on the present and future needs and our students can take a lead role in basic & application oriented research and development activities in industries and academia in the country.

The Master of Science (M.Sc.) program in Physics is an advanced postgraduate course designed to deepen students’ understanding of fundamental and applied aspects of physics. The program builds upon the foundational knowledge acquired at the undergraduate level and provides comprehensive training in modern theoretical concepts, experimental techniques, and computational methods used in contemporary physics research.

The program encourages critical thinking, scientific curiosity, and innovation while equipping students with the knowledge and technical expertise required for careers in research, education, technology development, and interdisciplinary scientific fields. Through seminars, research projects, and exposure to modern instrumentation and analytical tools, students are prepared to contribute meaningfully to scientific advancement and technological development.
