Course Overview

The Ph.D. in Physics at SGRR University is a research-oriented programme aimed at developing advanced scientific knowledge, analytical skills, and independent research capabilities in modern physics. The programme provides training in theoretical, experimental, computational, and interdisciplinary research methods, with opportunities in areas such as Nanoscience, Materials Science, Superconductivity, Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics, and Energy Storage.

The Department is supported by highly qualified and experienced faculty members with active research collaborations with premier national and international institutions, providing scholars with exposure to advanced research and academic exchange. Admission is conducted as per UGC Regulations and University Ordinances through the University Entrance Test or national-level examinations such as NET/GATE, followed by an interview. The award of the Ph.D. degree is governed by the prevailing UGC Regulations after successful completion of prescribed coursework and research requirements.

Eligibility

Post Graduate Degree in Physics with at least 55% marks or with an equivalent Grade Point average (GPA). Relaxation of 5% marks to SC/ST/OBC (non –creamy layer) differently-abled categories applicant.
