Brief Profile
Dr. Jasbir Singh is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics, School of Basic and Applied Sciences, Shri Guru Ram Rai University, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India. He earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics (2024) from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, where his research focused on the convergence analysis of the Weak Galerkin Finite Element Method for unsteady singularly perturbed problems. He completed his M.Sc. in Mathematics (Pure Specialization) (2016) from Kurukshetra University, Haryana. Dr. Singh has qualified the GATE and CSIR-UGC-NET examinations. He has published several research papers in leading international journals, including Computers & Mathematics with Applications, Journal of Computational Science, Mathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, Numerical Algorithms, and Numerical Methods for Partial Differential Equations. He has also presented his work at numerous international conferences and participated in workshops on innovative numerical techniques addressing contemporary engineering and scientific problems.
His current research focuses on developing operator-splitting Alternating Direction Implicit (ADI) schemes based on the Weak Galerkin Finite Element Method (WG-FEM) for the efficient numerical solution of multidimensional parabolic singularly perturbed problems on polygonal meshes. He also serves as a reviewer for several reputed international journals. Dr. Singh’s research interests include Numerical Analysis, Finite Element Methods, Weak Galerkin Methods, and Singular Perturbation Theory. He is deeply committed to advancing computational mathematics and mentoring emerging researchers in applied and numerical mathematics.
