Dr. Maneesha Singh is an aluminous of Lucknow University. She is working as Professor and Head, Department of Botany, School of Basic and Applied Sciences and Former Dean, School of Agricultural Sciences at Shri Guru Ram Rai University, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. She has completed her Ph.D. program from Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, CIMAP-CSIR, Lucknow and Lucknow University, Lucknow and field of specialization is Genetics and Plant Breeding (Botany). She has knowledge of conservation and cultivation of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants in vitro and in vivo. She has long teaching and research experience of about 27 years. She has organised and presented papers in seminars, conferences, webinar at National and International level. Successfully completed many faculty development programs (FDP) organized by NPTEL, MHRD, Government of India from 2019-25. She has published more than 80 research papers in National and International Journals, Proceedings and published 06 books. She has presented about 30 abstract papers in conferences/ symposium/ workshops. She is granted one US Patent: peppermint plant named “Pranjal” U.S – patent No. 6 of 844 (pp14, 090) granted on August26, 2003. Published patent on “Intelligent device for fruits rot monitoring” by Maneesha Singh Raj Singh, Anju Rani, Chhaya Singh, Sarvendra Kumar on DATE (U/S 11A) 22/04/2022. Filling date 18April, 2022, Entry date 28th 2022. Published patent on German Utility Model Patent Application Number 20 2022 102 060.4, Patent application Title- “Modified drug release carrier for anti -cancer drug” filing date April 18, 2022.
3 varieties of MAPs 'Pratik' of Mentha gracilis X Sole cardiac, 'Pranjal' of Mentha X piperita and 'Prabal' of Catharanthus roseus in CIMAP, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. She is a life member of Society of Green World for Sustainable Environment, India, Flora Fauna Science foundation, Lucknow, Association of Plant Taxonomy and Life Member of Agricultural technology development society (ATDS), Gaziabad (U.P.). She was selected for Women Scientist Fellowship Scheme for societal program (WOS-B) under DST Department during 2009 and received grants on cultivation and diversity analysis of Medicinal and aromatic Plants. Currently received grant for research project from UCB, Uttarakhand. She has been received several national and International awards on teaching and research fields.
