  • Art & Drama Club

An Art & Drama Club with an SDG focus uses creative expression as a powerful tool for awareness, empathy, critical thinking, and advocacy. It moves beyond performance and aesthetics to engage with the pressing social, economic, and environmental issues of our time. Art is not a mirror to hold up to reality, but a hammer with which to shape it. This club believes that creativity is a catalyst for conversation, healing, and social transformation. It provides a space to explore complex global issues through sensory, emotional, and participatory means.

Objectives

  • Awareness & Critical Engagement-To use art and drama to research, interpret, and critically analyze specific SDGs and their local implications, move beyond statistics and create emotional and intellectual connections to global challenges.
  • Storytelling & Empathy Building-To amplify marginalized voices and untold stories related to sustainability, justice, and equality, use role-play, improvisation, and visual narratives to "walk in someone else's shoes," fostering deep empathy.
  • Community Dialogue & Participation-To create participatory and interactive art that engages the wider community, not just as an audience but as co-creators or active participants in a dialogue, use public performances and installations as "conversation starters" on difficult topics.
  • Advocacy & Activism-To produce powerful, shareable content (plays, murals, digital art, films) that can influence public opinion and advocate for policy change, collaborate with local advocacy groups, using art to strengthen their campaigns.
