The Department of Microbiology actively encourages both students and faculty members to participate in co-curricular and extracurricular activities. Our students regularly take part in poster competitions, rangoli competitions, slogan-writing competitions, sports events, charity activities, Science Day celebrations, and various other academic and cultural programmes.

Students are encouraged to participate in national and international conferences, workshops, seminars, and training programmes to enhance their scientific knowledge and professional skills. Many students have received awards and recognitions for their outstanding performances in academic, cultural, and research-based competitions.

Dr. Jeevan Jyoti Kaushik was honoured with the Excellence in Teaching Award – 2026 in recognition of outstanding contributions to teaching and academic excellence. The award was presented during the U-COST Sponsored One-Day Workshop on "Intellectual Property Rights in Pharmaceutical Sciences: Recent Trends, Emerging Innovations and Their Impact on Research and Academic Practices in Higher Education," held at Jigyasa University, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, on 31 March, 2026. This recognition reflects Dr. Kaushik's dedication to quality education, innovative teaching practices, and excellence in higher education.
