On the occasion of World TB Day, our College of Nursing organized an awareness program to highlight the importance of eliminating tuberculosis and promoting community health. The theme of the event was “Yes! We Can End TB”, focusing on spreading awareness and encouraging early diagnosis and treatment.

The program commenced with a warm welcome to our respected (principal mam )Prof.Dr .G Ramalaksmi mam , respected guests, Ms. Priyanka mam (nursing supervisor pulmonary ward, SMIH) and our jury member Prof.Dr .K Ponmari mam (Sgrr college of nursing) faculty members, and students. A brief introduction was given about tuberculosis, its causes, symptoms, prevention, and treatment. The significance of World TB Day was also emphasized.

Guest Lecture

A special guest lecture was delivered by (Ms. Priyanka mam (nursing supervisor pulmonary ward, SMIH), who provided valuable insights into the current scenario of tuberculosis in India. The speaker highlighted:

  • The importance of early detection and adherence to treatment
  • Government initiatives and programs to control TB
  • The role of healthcare professionals in spreading awareness

The lecture was highly informative and interactive, helping students gain deeper knowledge about TB management and prevention.

Quiz Competition

To make the event more engaging, a quiz competition was organized for the students. The quiz included questions related to tuberculosis, general health, and nursing practices. Students participated enthusiastically and showcased their knowledge and teamwork.

  • 2nd Prize : Group F
  • 3rd  Prize : Group C

The winners were appreciated and awarded certificates for their excellent performance.

Conclusion

The program concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the guest speaker, faculty members, and students for their active participation. The event was successful in spreading awareness about tuberculosis and encouraging future healthcare professionals to contribute towards a TB-free society.
