The School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of Mass Communication, organized a workshop on 28 March 2026 on the topic “Radio and Television Programme Production and Career Opportunities.” The session was led by Mr. Anil Kumar Bharti, Assistant Director (Programme) from Prasar Bharati, Dehradun.”

The workshop focused on the fundamentals of programme production, offering practical insights into scripting, content creation and broadcasting techniques. Key aspects such as planning, audience engagement and the effective use of audio-visual elements were also discussed.

Mr. Anil Kumar Bharti shared valuable industry experiences and explained the functioning and significance of public service broadcasting in society. Special emphasis was placed on career opportunities in radio, highlighting roles such as radio announcer, commentator, radio jockey, producer and scriptwriter, along with the essential skills required to succeed in the field. The session also addressed emerging trends in digital media and the evolving nature of broadcasting.

The workshop was highly interactive, with students actively participating in discussions and asking questions. It enhanced their understanding of media practices and motivated them to explore diverse career opportunities in the field of broadcasting.
