Workshop at SPAHS, SGRRU Highlights Career Paths in Physiotherapy

The Department of Physiotherapy under the School of Paramedical and Allied Health Sciences at Shri Guru Ram Rai University organized a one-day special workshop for BPT and MPT students on 12th march 2026. The objective of the workshop was to guide students, especially interns, by providing them with information about various streams in physiotherapy and helping them choose the right specialization according to their interests and future career prospects.

The program began with ceremonial lamp lighting by the Chief Guest, Honorable Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) K. Pratapan Pillai, Registrar Dr. Lokesh Gambhir, and other distinguished guests.

The keynote speaker of the workshop was the world-renowned Dr. Ali Irani (former sports physiotherapist of the Indian cricket team). In his lecture, he elaborated on various career options, specializations, and employment opportunities available in the field of physiotherapy. Dr. Irani also informed students about modern and advanced techniques that help provide faster pain relief to patients.

He stated that physiotherapy offers several specializations, including sports physiotherapy, neuro physiotherapy, orthopedic physiotherapy, and cardio-pulmonary physiotherapy. He emphasized that if students choose the right stream based on their interests, skills, and future prospects, they can build a successful career in this field.

The successful organization of the program was led by Coordinator Prof. (Dr.) Keerti Singh, Organizers Prof. (Dr.) Neeraj Kumar and Dr. Sharda Sharma. Distinguished guests Dr. Sonia Gambhir and Dr. Malavika Kandpal were also present on the occasion. Faculty members from the Physiotherapy Department, Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, and the School of Paramedical and Allied Health Sciences were also in attendance.
