Women Financial Empowerment Program Organized at SGRR University

“Empowered Women, Smart Finances, Secure Future”

Dehradun: The Women Development Cell of Shri Guru Ram Rai University organized a Women Financial Empowerment Program with the objective of promoting economic empowerment among women. The theme of the program was “Empowered Women, Smart Finances, Secure Future,” aimed at creating awareness among women about financial literacy, savings, investments, and planning for a secure future. The program was held at the auditorium of the Pathribagh campus of the University.

The keynote speaker for the program was Dr. Sanjay Kumar Agrawal, renowned academician, data scientist, financial literacy expert, startup and entrepreneurship advisor, and representative from Mirae Asset Mutual Fund.

On this occasion, the Hon’ble President of the University, Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj, extended his best wishes to the Women Development Cell for organizing this meaningful initiative.

During his session, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Agrawal elaborated on important aspects such as financial planning, budget management, savings schemes, investment options, insurance, digital banking, and self-reliance in financial decision-making. He emphasized that financial literacy not only empowers women economically but also strengthens their role in the development of families and society.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Dr. Priyanka Bankoti, Chairperson of the Women Development Cell, stated that such programs are a significant step toward building women’s confidence, independent decision-making abilities, and long-term financial security. The participants actively engaged in interactive sessions, raised their queries, and gained practical insights into financial management through real-life examples.

Dean Students’ Welfare, Prof. Malvika Sati Kandpal, also shared her views and highlighted the importance of such programs for women’s education and empowerment. She congratulated the Women Development Cell team and all participants for the successful completion of the program.

The program was attended by members of the Women Development Cell including Dr. Garima Singh, Dr. Kalpana Bisht, Dr. Ritu Sinha, Dr. Shikha Uniyal Gairola, Dr. Monika Bangari, Dr. Nidhi, and Dr. Shalini, along with Deans of various schools, Heads of Departments, faculty members, girl students, and staff members in large numbers.

The program was anchored by Yanisha Rawat.

At the conclusion of the program, Prof. Dr. Priyanka Bankoti presented the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all guests, speakers, university administration, faculty members, and students for their valuable support and participation.
