A One Day Tier-III Training Programme on “Sustainable Groundwater Management” was successfully organized by the School of Agricultural Sciences in collaboration with the Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Jal Shakti, and the Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology.
The programme aimed to enhance awareness and strengthen knowledge on sustainable groundwater utilization and conservation, particularly in the context of agriculture and environmental management. Dr. Lokesh Gambhir, Registrar of SGRRU, graced the occasion as the distinguished guest and emphasized the importance of integrating scientific innovations with traditional practices to ensure long-term water security. Eminent experts including Dr. Prashant Rai, Dr. Vikas Tomar, and Dr. Bhavtosh Sharma delivered insightful sessions covering groundwater conservation strategies, regional challenges, policy frameworks, and sustainable management practices.
The programme was effectively anchored by Ms. Kavita Pun and witnessed active participation from around 150 attendees, including students, faculty members, and farmers, who engaged in meaningful discussions. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Priyanka Bankoti
