The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of Shri Guru Ram Rai University organized a solo singing competition on Tuesday under the Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam 2026, on the theme “Celebrate Freedom, Let the Melodies of Patriotism Resonate.” Students from various faculties of the university participated in the competition and created a vibrant atmosphere with their patriotic performances. Through their singing talent, command over melody and rhythm, and expressive performances, the participants beautifully conveyed the spirit of patriotism.
The competition was held at the university auditorium located at Pathribagh, where students presented various patriotic songs as solo performances. The auditorium remained filled with a strong sense of patriotism throughout the event. The participants impressed the audience and faculty members with their melodious voices and expressive performances. Through their songs, the students conveyed messages of freedom, national unity, the sacrifices of brave soldiers, and respect for the motherland.
Inaugurating the competition, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Prof. (Dr.) Preeti Tiwari, appreciated the performances of the students. She said that along with academic activities, promoting cultural and creative activities at the university is essential for the holistic development of students. She also appreciated the efforts of all the participants. She said that such competitions not only boost students’ confidence but also provide them with an appropriate platform to showcase their talents and strengthen their sense of pride, respect, and dedication towards the nation.
The performances were judged by Prof. Tushti Maithani, Retired Professor, MKP College, Dehradun. While evaluating the performances, she appreciated the talent and enthusiasm of the students. She said that active participation in music and cultural activities plays an important role in enhancing students’ personality development, confidence, and creative abilities.
In the competition results, Shweta from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences secured first position. Mukesh from the School of Basic and Applied Sciences secured second position, while Tanoy from the School of Agricultural Sciences secured third position. All three winners earned appreciation from the judges and the audience for their impressive performances.
The event was organized with the objective of providing students with an opportunity to showcase their creative and artistic talents while connecting them with the spirit of nationalism. Through this initiative, Shri Guru Ram Rai University sought to create awareness among students about Indian culture, the freedom struggle, and their responsibilities towards the nation.
The solo singing competition organized under the Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam 2026 became a memorable event with its patriotic songs and outstanding student performances. At the conclusion of the programme, the winners were congratulated, while the enthusiasm, talent, and efforts of all the participants were appreciated.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Priya Pandey, Dr. Lata Sati, and Dr. Parul Agrawal, while Yanishа served as the stage anchor. Faculty members of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, along with hundreds of students, were present at the event.
