School of Allied Health Care Sciences (SAHCS), Shri Guru Ram Rai University (SGRRU), organised a Cyber Security Awareness Programme on 20th Aug 2026 to sensitise students about safe, responsible and secure use of digital technologies.

The programme featured Mr. Sunil Bhatt, Sub-Inspector, Cyber Crime Police Station, Dehradun, as the resource person. He provided students with valuable insights into the growing challenges of cybercrime and the importance of maintaining cyber safety in everyday digital interactions. The Dean Prof. (Dr.) Keerti Singh along with other faculty members of the school were present during the programme.

During the session, Mr. Bhatt discussed various forms of cyber threats, including phishing, online fraud, identity theft, cyberbullying, social engineering and other digital scams. He explained practical measures for protecting personal information, creating strong passwords, enabling two-factor authentication, avoiding suspicious links and messages, and exercising caution while using social media and online financial platforms.

The interactive session enabled students to understand real-life cybercrime scenarios and clarify their concerns regarding online safety. The resource person encouraged students to remain vigilant and adopt responsible digital practices.

The programme concluded with the message that cybersecurity is a shared responsibility, and awareness and vigilance are essential for creating a safe digital environment.

The initiative reflects the commitment of SAHCS, SGRRU towards the holistic development of students by equipping them with awareness and skills necessary to navigate the rapidly evolving digital world safely and responsibly.
