National Youth Day 12 January. 2026-"NSS Volunteers (All the four Units) of Shri Guru Ram Rai University (SGRRU) actively participated in the National Youth Day Programme organized by the Department of Youth Welfare and Provincial Guard (Prantiya Rakshak Dal – PRD), Uttarakhand, at the historic Parade Ground, Dehradun. The programme was held in the august presence of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, the Hon’ble Minister for Youth Welfare, Smt. Rekha Arya, and the NSS State Officer, Dr. Sunaina Rawat. The event was organized to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, whose ideals of youth empowerment, self-belief, and nation-building continue to inspire generations".
The enthusiastic participation of SGRRU NSS volunteers reflected their commitment to social responsibility, discipline, and service to the nation. Through their presence and engagement, the volunteers drew inspiration from Swami Vivekananda’s message of character-building, leadership, and service to humanity, reinforcing the role of youth as a driving force for national development.
The programme was further strengthened by the presence and encouragement of Prof. (Dr.) Naveen Gaurav, NSS Senior Programme Officer, SGRRU, and Prof. (Dr.) Malvika Kandpal, Dean Student Welfare, SGRRU. Both dignitaries motivated the students to imbibe the values of leadership, unity, discipline, and civic responsibility, emphasizing the importance of youth participation in nation-building and community development initiatives.
In addition to the state-level celebrations, SGRRU campus activities were also organized to mark National Youth Day. A creative and thought-provoking initiative titled the “Wall of Thought” was installed, where students actively shared motivational quotes, reflections, and ideas inspired by Swami Vivekananda’s teachings. This initiative provided a platform for students to express their aspirations, vision, and enthusiasm, symbolizing the dynamic spirit and intellectual energy of today’s youth.
Overall, the celebration served as a powerful reminder of the role of young minds in shaping the future of the nation, resonating strongly with the inspiring theme:
“Ignite the Self, Impact the World.”
