The College of Education, Shri Guru Ram Rai University, Dehradun, renewed its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sterlite EdIndia Foundation on 19 June 2026. The renewed collaboration aims to continue strengthening pre-service teacher education by integrating technology-enabled learning, capacity-building initiatives, and professional development opportunities for B.Ed. students.

The partnership builds upon a successful collaboration of the previous four years, during which Sterlite EdIndia Foundation provided valuable learning platforms, digital resources, and professional engagement opportunities that significantly enriched the academic and practical experiences of student teachers.  

Background

The proposal for renewal of the MoU was initiated by the Dean, School of Education, Professor Malvika Sati Kandpal, who highlighted the successful outcomes of the previous collaboration and recommended its continuation.

Objectives of the MoU

The renewed MoU aims to:

  • Develop an ICT-enabled ecosystem for pre-service teacher education.
  • Enhance teaching competencies through technology-based interventions.
  • Strengthen professional capacities of B.Ed. student teachers.
  • Facilitate access to digital learning platforms and educational resources.
  • Promote continuous professional development through online engagement and certification opportunities.

Major Areas of Collaboration

Under the agreement, Sterlite EdIndia Foundation shall:

  • Conduct regular online academic sessions for pre-service teachers.
  • Provide access to digital platforms and e-learning content.
  • Facilitate enrolment of student teachers in professional certification programmes.
  • Support technology integration in teacher education.
  • The College of Education shall:
  • Facilitate implementation of the collaborative activities.
  • Extend institutional support for execution of programmes.
  • Encourage participation of students and faculty members.
  • Coordinate academic activities undertaken jointly under the partnership.

Duration of the Agreement

The Memorandum of Understanding shall remain effective from the date of signing until 31 March 2029, unless modified or terminated in accordance with the provisions of the agreement.

Expected Outcomes

The renewed partnership is expected to:

  • Improve digital competencies among future teachers.
  • Enhance classroom readiness through technology-enabled pedagogy.
  • Provide exposure to innovative teaching-learning practices.
  • Promote professional certification and lifelong learning.
