SGRRU Makes a Major Leap in Engineering Education After Excelling in Medical Education

World-Class Infrastructure, AI-Driven Learning, and Global Collaborations to Redefine Technical Education

Having established a strong reputation in healthcare and medical education across North India, Shri Guru Ram Rai University (SGRRU) has now taken a significant leap in the field of engineering education. On Wednesday, the University inaugurated its state-of-the-art multi-storey School of Engineering & Technology building. Equipped with advanced laboratories, cutting-edge machinery, robust IT infrastructure, highly qualified faculty, and an industry-oriented teaching ecosystem, the new academic block reflects the University's vision and commitment to delivering world-class technical education.

The inauguration ceremony was jointly led by Prof. (Dr.) Durgesh Pant, Director General of UCOST, and Prof. (Dr.) K. Prathapan, Vice Chancellor of SGRRU, with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp. Appreciating the world-class infrastructure, modern equipment, and highly competent faculty, Prof. Pant expressed confidence that SGRRU would soon establish itself among India's leading engineering institutions. He also assured full support from UCOST for the University's future academic and research initiatives.

Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) K. Prathapan stated that the University's vision is to position its Engineering College among the country's premier technical institutions while ensuring outstanding placement opportunities for students in reputed multinational companies across India and abroad. Registrar Dr. Lokesh Gambhir added that the University is committed to producing technically skilled professionals through innovation-driven education, modern teaching methodologies, and curricula aligned with industry requirements.

Dr. Sonika Kandari, Dean of the School of Engineering & Technology, informed that students are being imparted specialized training in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Science, Machine Learning, and other emerging technologies. From the very first year, students are exposed to industry visits, expert guest lectures, innovation programmes, and project-based learning, enabling them to acquire valuable practical experience alongside academic knowledge.

To strengthen global academic exposure, the University has initiated collaborations with several prestigious institutions, including the University of Alberta, McMaster University, IIT Roorkee, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, and IIT Kharagpur. Discussions are also underway for academic partnerships with universities in Germany, Japan, China, and South Korea. Engineering programmes have been designed in line with evolving industry demands to equip students with globally relevant skills and enhance their employment prospects.

In view of the growing enthusiasm among aspiring students for engineering admissions, the University has also submitted a proposal to the Board of Management and the Board of Governance to increase the intake capacity. Students expressed their appreciation to the University management for providing world-class facilities, modern laboratories, and experienced faculty, stating that the education they receive at SGRRU will lay a strong foundation for their successful careers.
