Sumir Gnyawali, a young Yogasana athlete from Shri Guru Ram Rai University, Uttarakhand, played a significant role in India's remarkable success at the 1st World Yogasana Championship 2026, held in Ahmedabad. Representing the Indian Yogasana team, the talented student of Shri Guru Ram Rai University, Dehradun, won one gold medal and one bronze medal, bringing pride to the nation, the state, and the university.
The Honourable President of Shri Guru Ram Rai University, Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj, extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Sumir Gnyawali on this remarkable achievement.
By helping the Indian team secure the gold medal in the Traditional Group Event, Sumir proudly contributed to raising the Indian tricolour on the world stage. In the Senior-B Men’s Traditional Yogasana Event, he displayed exceptional balance, flexibility, and technical excellence to clinch the bronze medal.
