With the blessings of Hon. President and motivation from Hon. VC Prof. Pillai, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Shri Guru Ram Rai University, Dehradun, organized a health camp on 28 January 2026 at Shri Mahant Indiresh Community Health Centre (CHC), Bhauwala, with the aim of providing essential healthcare services and health awareness to the local community.
The camp focused on delivering health benefits to patients by offering free medicines, health supplements, and patient counselling. Pharm. D 5th year students actively and enthusiastically participated in the camp, distributing free medicines and providing information on blood pressure regulation and general health management.
Special emphasis was placed on female health and hygiene awareness. Adjoining SGRR School, Bhauwala, female students were educated on maintaining personal hygiene and overall women’s health. As part of the outreach activity, free sanitary pads and multivitamin supplements were distributed to promote better health practices among young girls and women. Male students were given information regarding maintaining blood pressure and other vitals by the volunteers. NSS Student volunteers from the school coordinated the camp in a well designed manner.
Several over-the-counter (OTC) medications were also provided to patients visiting the Community Health Centre, addressing common health concerns and improving access to basic healthcare. The motto of the health camp was to support needy individuals through health education, preventive care, and essential supplements.
The Dean, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dr. Divya Juyal, congratulated the entire team and appreciated their efforts towards this noble cause and community service initiative.
The health camp was successfully coordinated by Mrs. Shaffi Khurana Tangri and Mrs. Nidhi Semwal, Assistant Professors, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The activity proved to be a valuable learning experience for Pharm. D students, contributing towards the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to healthcare and community well-being.
