With the blessings of the Hon’ble President, Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj, the School of Basic and Applied Sciences (SBAS) organized a seminar on “IPR: Prototype to Commercialization of MedTech” on 14th March 2026 in collaboration with the Innovation and Incubation Centre (IIC), Shri Guru Ram Rai University, sponsored by UCOST, Government of Uttarakhand. The seminar commenced with the invocation and blessings of Maa Saraswati, welcome remark by Prof. (Dr.) Dwarika P. Maithani Director IIC followed by an expert lecture delivered by the esteemed speaker, Dr. Deepak Joshi from the Centre for Biomedical Engineering, IIT Delhi. During his insightful session, Dr. Joshi highlighted the significance of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) in transforming innovative ideas and prototypes into commercially viable medical technologies. He elaborated on the processes of innovation, patent protection, and the translation of research outcomes into practical healthcare solutions. The seminar provided valuable insights to students on research, innovation, and entrepreneurship in the MedTech sector. The event proved to be highly informative and inspiring for both students and faculty members. The session concluded with closing remarks by Dr. Pankaj Chamoli, Dean, SBAS, who expressed gratitude to the keynote speaker and encouraged students to actively engage in research, innovation, and intellectual property development.
