SGRRU

The auspicious occasion of Deeksharambh Sanskar – Induction Programme 2025 was organized at Shri Guru Ram Rai University with great zeal and enthusiasm. The event commenced with the sacred invocation:

Vakratunda Maha-Kaaya, Surya-Koti-Samaprabha, Nirvighnam Kuru Me Deva, Sarva-Kaaryeshu Sarvadaa.”

The Office of the Dean of Student Welfare (DSW), Shri Guru Ram Rai University, successfully organized the Deeksharambh Sanskar – Induction Programme 2025 to welcome the new batch of students for the academic session 2025.

The programme was graced by the blessings of Hon’ble President, SGRRU, Mananiye Mahant Shri Devendra Das Ji Maharaj, the encouragement of Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Kumud Saklani, and the guidance of Registrar, Dr. Lokesh Gambhir.

Highlights of the Programme

1. Welcome Address

  • The event began with a warm welcome extended to the Deans, faculty members, and freshers of the academic session 2025.
  • Dr. Shreya Kotnala delivered the formal welcome speech, setting the tone for the day.

2. Lighting of the Lamps

  • In keeping with Indian tradition, the dignitaries invoked the blessings of Maa Saraswati through the lighting of the ceremonial lamp.
  • A soulful Vandana dance was presented in her honour.

3.University Presentation

  • The IT team showcased a 17-minute video highlighting SGRRU’s vision, mission, and achievements, inspiring students with the institution’s journey.

4. Addresses by Dignitaries

  • Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Kumud Saklani, addressed the gathering and motivated the students.
  • Registrar, Dr. Lokesh Gambhir, shared words of encouragement, emphasizing discipline and commitment.
  • Controller of Examinations, Dr. Sanjay Sharma, guided the freshers on examination procedures.
  • University Coordinator, Dr. R.P. Singh, provided an overview of academic and extracurricular opportunities.
  • Professor of Psychiatry, Dr. Shobit Garg, sensitized students on mental health and stress management.
  • Placement & Training Coordinator, Dr. Manisha Maiduly, inspired students with career guidance.

5. Cultural Performances

  • School of Engineering & Technology (SET) : Presented Garhwali, Bollywood, and solo dance performances.
  • Department of Yogic Science : Performed a graceful yoga demonstration, showcasing India’s spiritual heritage.
  • School of Management & Commerce Studies (SMCS) : Enlivened the stage with Punjabi and Bollywood dances.
  • School of Basic & Applied Sciences (SBAS) : Showcased Garhwali and Bollywood dance performances.
  • School of Paramedical Sciences : Presented Garhwali and Bollywood acts with great enthusiasm.
  • School of Pharmacy : Enthralled the audience with Nepali and Bollywood hip-hop dances.

6. Vote of Thanks

  • Dean of Student Welfare, Dr. Malvika Kandpal, expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty, organizing team, and students for making the event a grand success

7. Conclusion

  • The programme concluded with the National Anthem, followed by refreshments for all attendees.
