It is a matter of great pride for Shri Guru Ram Rai University, School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS) that Ms. Yashaswi Negi, a second-semester M.A. Geography student, has secured First Position in the Travelogue Writing category (18-25 age group) in the ‘Yuva Kalamkar Competition–2025’, organized by the Uttarakhand Bhasha Sansthan.
Her entry titled “Pahadon Ki God Mein bitaye we do din” (“Two Days Spent in the Lap of the Mountains”) was selected for the top position due to its originality, expressive strength, and deep understanding of the subject. This state-level competition witnessed participation from numerous talented individuals, showcasing their creative writing skills. Yashaswi Negi’s work stood out and impressed the jury with its creativity and impactful narration.
She was honoured with a certificate and a cash prize of ₹11,000 on 31 March 2026 for this outstanding achievement. The award was conferred in the gracious presence of Hon’ble Cabinet Ministers Mr. Subodh Uniyal (Forests, Elections, Technical Education, Parliamentary Affairs, Medical Health, and Medical Education) and Mr. Khajan Das (Social Welfare, Minority Welfare, Student Welfare & Language), Government of Uttarakhand, adding prestige to the occasion.
This accomplishment not only highlights her individual talent but also reflects the university’s commitment to promoting academic excellence and creative expression.
