On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, the School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS), Shri Guru Ram Rai University, Dehradun, organised a Rakhi Making Competition on 27th August 2026. The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who showcased their creativity, artistic skills, and innovative ideas through beautifully designed and handcrafted Rakhis.
The Dean of SHSS, Prof. (Dr.) Preeti Tiwary, congratulated all the participants and winners for their enthusiastic participation. She appreciated the students for their creativity, dedication, and artistic talent and highlighted the importance of co-curricular activities in nurturing students’ confidence, creativity, and overall personality development. She emphasised that such activities provide students with a meaningful platform to express their creativity while celebrating the cultural values and significance of Raksha Bandhan. She encouraged students to actively participate in similar activities and continue exploring their artistic and creative potential.
The competition was judged by Prof. (Dr.) Geeta Rawat, who evaluated the entries based on creativity, originality, artistic presentation, and overall design.
The event was coordinated by Lt. (Dr.) Anuja Rohilla and Dr. Kalpana Thapliyal. The event concluded with appreciation for all the students who participated and contributed to making the celebration of Raksha Bandhan creative, engaging, and memorable.
