Under the able guidance of Prof. (Dr.) G. RamaLakshmi, Principal, College of Nursing, SGRRIM & HS, the B.Sc. Nursing Semester II students conducted a Nutrition Practical on the theme “Calcium and Protein-Rich Therapeutic Diet” at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, Ortho Ward II.
The practical was organized to strengthen students’ knowledge and practical skills in planning and preparing therapeutic diets that promote bone healing, improve nutritional status, and support the overall recovery of orthopedic patients.
The students prepared and displayed a variety of calcium- and protein-rich therapeutic dishes appropriate for orthopedic patients. They explained the nutritional components, therapeutic importance, and health benefits of each preparation to the faculty members, hospital staff, patients, and attendants.
The practical was conducted under the supervision of Mr. Amit George and Mrs. Garima Chetri. The preparations were assessed on the basis of nutritional value, hygiene, creativity, presentation, and suitability for patients.
A total of 43 B.Sc. Nursing Semester II students actively participated in the nutrition practical, along with faculty members, hospital staff, patients, and attendants.
The event was successfully conducted and provided students with a meaningful clinical learning experience. It emphasized the significant role of balanced, calcium-rich, and protein-rich nutrition in promoting bone health, supporting healing, and improving patient recovery.
