A significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Thursday in New Delhi between Shri Guru Ram Rai University (SGRRU) and the prestigious technical and research institution, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. The collaboration will directly benefit the engineering students of SGRRU. To mark the occasion, an atmosphere of celebration prevailed at SGRRU, with sweets being distributed among faculty members and students.
Through this MoU, the two institutions will give a new direction to academic and research collaboration in the fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI), modern agriculture, health sciences, innovation and cutting-edge research. In the near future, scientists and academicians from IIT Delhi will interact with the engineering students of Shri Guru Ram Rai University and engage with them on various academic and technical subjects.
The objective of the MoU is to connect students and research scholars with the latest research and technological developments taking place in India and across the world, while providing them with practical exposure, cutting-edge research opportunities and new possibilities. This academic partnership with a globally renowned institution like IIT Delhi will open new avenues for SGRRU students and research scholars in high-level research, expert guidance, and national and international academic opportunities.
At a programme held at IIT Delhi in New Delhi on Thursday, the MoU was signed on behalf of Shri Guru Ram Rai University by Registrar Dr. Lokesh Gambhir, while Prof. (Dr.) Ashwini K. Agarwal signed on behalf of IIT Delhi.
On the occasion, Dr. Lokesh Gambhir said that the MoU is an important step towards further strengthening research, innovation and interdisciplinary learning at SGRRU. He stated that under the agreement, opportunities will be developed for faculty exchange, academic exchange for students and research scholars, exchange of new research findings and technical knowledge, and joint work on cutting-edge research projects between the two institutions.
He said that collaboration between IIT Delhi’s expertise and SGRRU’s academic and research capabilities across various disciplines will provide students with opportunities to understand emerging technologies, develop research skills, and enhance their knowledge and competencies in line with future requirements.
Under the MoU, both institutions will promote joint research in modern and emerging areas. In particular, research and innovation will be encouraged by exploring possibilities for collaboration in Artificial Intelligence, modern agricultural technologies, health sciences and other contemporary fields.
The partnership between Shri Guru Ram Rai University and IIT Delhi is an important initiative towards integrating education with research, innovation and technology. It will not only provide students and research scholars with opportunities to access national-level expertise and research resources, but will also give fresh impetus to knowledge and technological collaboration between the two institutions.
On the occasion, Dr. Lokesh Gambhir, Registrar; Dr. Pankaj Kumar Garg; Dr. Sonia Gambhir; and Dr. Ashok Bhandari were present.
