MoU Signed Between Shri Guru Ram Rai University and Akums Drugs Pharmaceuticals

Students to get industry exposure, training, and new employment opportunities 

Taking an important step towards strengthening coordination between the education sector and industry, Shri Guru Ram Rai University and Akums Drugs Pharmaceuticals Limited, Haridwar, signed a significant MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) on Thursday. The agreement is a major initiative aimed at connecting students with modern industrial practices, providing practical training, and promoting employment-oriented education.

On behalf of Shri Guru Ram Rai University, Registrar Dr. Lokesh Gambhir, and on behalf of Akums Drugs Pharmaceuticals Limited, Managing Director Dr. Sandeep Jain signed the MoU. Under this agreement, university students will get an opportunity to closely understand the current scenario, modern technologies, and work culture of the pharmaceutical industry. In particular, students of Basic and Applied Sciences will receive industry-based practical training, professional exposure, and employment-related experience.

As part of the agreement, Akums Drugs Pharmaceuticals Limited will identify economically weaker yet meritorious students and connect them with job opportunities alongside their studies. University professors will conduct special classes for the selected students, while the company will provide training, professional guidance, and stipend/salary support.

The university administration described the initiative as a “positive and visionary step linking education with employment.” Experts believe that such industry-academia collaborations will provide students with a new platform to showcase their talent and help them understand the corporate environment during their academic journey itself.

On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Arun Kumar, Dr. Pankaj Chamoli, Dr. Sheetal Tyagi, Dr. Yogendra Singh Tomar, along with the Senior General Manager of Akums Drugs Pharmaceuticals and several other dignitaries, were present.
