About the Library

The Pathribagh Campus Library serves as the intellectual hub of the institution, dedicated to supporting teaching, learning, and research. It houses a rich collection of over 36,386 volumes, including textbooks, reference books, rare books, and other academic resources.

The library provides access to leading academic databases, including EBSCO and JSTOR, as well as online journals such as IJOR and Science Direct, thereby fostering academic excellence and research innovation. The university is the member of Indian electronic thesis and dissertation digital library called Shodhsindhu & Shodhganga for enhancing transparency and honesty in research.

Equipped with modern ICT-enabled services, Library offers OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) for efficient and user-friendly access to its resources.

The library supports the academic needs of the following schools:

Library Rules& Regulations

The Library is committed to providing a quiet, safe, and productive environment for learning and research. All users are requested to adhere to the following rules:

  • Carry a valid University ID Card while visiting the library.
  • Maintain silence and a disciplined atmosphere within the library premises.
  • Deposit bags, parcels, and other personal belongings at the property counter before entry.
  • Handle library materials with care. Any loss, damage, marking, or mutilation of books and other resources will attract penalties.
  • Borrowed materials must be returned on or before the due date. Overdue fines will be charged as per library policy.
  • Renewal of issued books is subject to availability and reservation status.
  • Mobile phones must be kept on silent mode. Voice calls are not permitted inside the library.
  • Eating, drinking, smoking, and any activity that disturbs other users are strictly prohibited.
  • Library computers, internet facilities, and e-resources are to be used only for academic and research purposes.
  • Unauthorized downloading, online chatting, gaming, social networking, or misuse of digital resources is prohibited.
  • Subscribed e-resources and databases are licensed materials and must not be shared outside the University community.
  • Users are responsible for all materials issued on their account.
  • Students, faculty, and staff must clear all library dues and return borrowed materials before leaving the University.
  • The Librarian reserves the right to suspend library privileges for violation of library rules.

Note: Library rules are subject to revision from time to time. All users are expected to cooperate in maintaining the library as a center of knowledge, learning, and academic excellence.

Facilities

Library Timings - The Library remains open during the following hours:

Note: The library remains closed on Sundays and University-declared holidays.

Member Privileges

The Central Library serves faculty members, students, research scholars, administrative staff, and other authorized members of the University community. Borrowing privileges are as follows:

Library FAQ

The Reference Collection mainly contains encyclopedias, handbooks, dictionaries, directories, atlases, audio-visual materials (audio, video, CDs), and one reference copy of each title.

The Library is well equipped with modern facilities and resources, including books, e-books, e-journals, e-databases, print journals, theses, and other academic materials.

No. E-resources are accessible only to SGRRU students, research scholars, faculty members, and staff.

New users must collect their RFID ID card from the IT Department and visit the Library once to activate their membership.

The Library maintains a well-curated collection of print books we have including textbooks, reference books, dictionaries, encyclopedias, and other academic resources aligned with university courses. The collection supports all disciplines taught at the university and is developed through a focused collection development policy to ensure relevance and quality
