Brief profile and Achievements

Dr. Kunga Tanzin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at SGRRU University. He holds a Ph.D. and Master’s degree in Political Science from Panjab University, Chandigarh, and has qualified both UGC-NET and HP-SET examinations. With a strong academic and research orientation, Dr. Tanzin specializes in International Relations and Geopolitics, with a particular focus on Himalayan geopolitics and South Asian political dynamics. His doctoral research was supported by the prestigious Central Doctoral Fellowship awarded by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR). Dr. Tanzin was also selected for the Asia Economic Dialogue Fellowship Programme by the Pune International Centre, further reflecting his growing contribution to regional geopolitical discourse. He has actively contributed to field-based research, including his role as a Field Investigator in the post-poll survey for the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections conducted by the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS), New Delhi. His academic pursuits are marked by a deep commitment to critical inquiry, regional studies, and policy-oriented research in the realm of South Asian and Himalayan geopolitics.
