The School of Education, SGRRU, observed the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on 25 November to raise awareness about gender-based violence and promote respect and safety for women. he programs aimed to educate students, promote gender sensitivity, and encourage collective responsibility toward creating a safe and equitable society.
The program began with a welcome address by faculty members, highlighting the importance of the day. The Dean of the School of Education, Prof. Malvika Sati Kandpal, delivered an insightful talk on the various forms of violence against women, legal protections, and the role of education in prevention. Students participated enthusiastically in activities such as speeches and a short skit depicting issues related to domestic and social violence.
Anchoring was done by Ruchika, who conducted the event smoothly. After the opening, Deepali, Hajra, Sanjana, and Priya presented short speeches and poems in both Hindi and English, focusing on women’s rights, safety, and empowerment.
