Dr. Kalpana Bisht is presently serving as Assistant Professor in the Department of Entomology, School of Agricultural Sciences, Shri Guru Ram Rai University, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. She possesses more than seven years of experience in teaching and research. She has obtained her Ph.D. in Entomology from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, and completed her M.Sc. (Ag.) Entomology and B.Sc. Agriculture from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, also qualified ICAR-NET. She has been awarded several fellowships, including the UGC Fellowship for Ph.D. and a Research Grant under RKVY-RAFTAAR (RABI Program) from the Indian Institute of Management, Kashipur (2024-25).
Her research contributions include 23 research papers in NAAS-rated journals, one authored book, seven book chapters, and seven popular articles. Her primary research interests lies in host plant resistance, integrated pest management, and sustainable pest management innovations, including work on insect protein harvesting.
Dr. Bisht holds two design patents granted by the Government of India for innovative insect-handling and rearing devices.
