Educational Study Tour to Jodhpur & Jaisalmer: A Journey of Learning and Exploration

An enriching educational study tour was organized by the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of Defence Studies and Master of Social Work, SGRR University, Dehradun, to Jodhpur and Jaisalmer from 21st to 26th April 2026. A total of 41 students participated enthusiastically in this six-day journey. The tour was guided by Dr. Amardeep Singh Chauhan and Dr. Manbeer Singh Negi, while Dr. Parul Aggarwal ensured the safety and well-being of female students.

During the tour, students visited iconic places such as Mehrangarh Fort, Umaid Bhawan Palace, and Jaisalmer Fort, gaining valuable insights into India’s rich heritage and architectural brilliance. A visit to the Longewala border area provided students with a practical understanding of military strategies, border security systems, and desert warfare.

The tour also offered an opportunity to explore the socio-cultural lifestyle of desert regions and understand how people adapt to challenging environments. Beyond academic learning, the experience helped students develop discipline, teamwork, and leadership qualities.

Overall, the tour was highly informative and provided students with meaningful practical exposure, making it a truly memorable and enriching experience.
