Brief profile and Achievements:
Dr. Surendra Prasad Rayal is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Naturopathy and Alternative Therapies, School of Yogic Science & Naturopathy, Shri Guru Ram Rai University, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. He holds a Ph.D. and M.Phil. in Yoga, an M.A. in Human Consciousness and Yogic Science, and a P.G. Diploma in Yoga and Holistic Health, along with qualifications and training in naturopathy and acupressure.
Dr. Rayal has extensive teaching and academic experience, including serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Yogic Science at Pt. L. M. S. Government P.G. College, Rishikesh, from 2008 to 2019. He has also been associated with the Yoga Certification Board (YCB), Ministry of AYUSH, as an examiner since 2017 and has served as a State Coordinator (Uttarakhand) with the International Naturopathy Organization (INO) since 2021.
His academic and research interests include Yoga, Yoga Philosophy, Meditation, Pranayama, Mental Health, Holistic Health, Yoga Therapy, Naturopathy, and human well-being. He has published numerous research papers in national and international journals, contributed chapters to edited books, and authored books including Yoga Shodh Deepika, Wide Vision – Visioner Perspective, and Wide Vision – Personal Growth and Transformation. He is also associated with doctoral research guidance, with five Ph.D. scholars awarded and four pursuing their Ph.D. under his guidance.
Dr. Surendra Prasad Rayal has participated as an invited speaker, keynote speaker, resource person, and chairperson in numerous national and international conferences, seminars, and workshops. He has also received several honours and recognitions for his contributions to Yoga and related fields. His professional achievements include an awarded national patent for a Portable Yoga Posture Monitoring Device in 2024.
