Dr. Pratibha Singh is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Shri Guru Ram Rai University, Dehradun. She holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, with her doctoral research focused on The Effect of Meditation on Selective Attention Task Performance. She has also completed M.A. in Psychology, M.A. in PM & Yoga, and a PG Diploma in Guidance and Counselling.
Dr. Singh has teaching, research, counselling, and academic experience. Prior to joining SGRRU, she served as an Assistant Professor at Isabella Thoburn College, Lucknow, and worked as a Project Fellow in the SAP-DRS-II programme at the Department of Psychology, BHU. She has also worked as an academic counsellor with IGNOU and as an educational and vocational counsellor.
Her research interests include Cognitive Psychology, Neuropsychology, Social Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, attention, meditation, mindfulness, and psychological well-being. She has published research papers in peer-reviewed journals and has received Best Paper Awards at national and international conferences, along with the Young Psychologist Award.
Her teaching philosophy emphasizes student-centered, experiential, and research-oriented learning. She aims to develop students' conceptual understanding, critical thinking, research skills, ethical awareness, and ability to apply psychological knowledge to real-life situations. She is committed to mentoring students and fostering academic excellence, professional competence, and lifelong learning. She holds a patent titled “Cognitive Assessment and Executive Function Console.” The patent has Application No. 202611061555 and Publication No. is 202611061555, published on 17 July 2026 in Journal No. 29/2026.
