Awards and Achievements: 

Dr. Hitendra Kumar is currently working as Associate Professor and Head (Entomology) at School of Agricultural Sciences, SGRRU Dehradun. He joined Shri Guru Ram Rai University, Dehradun in July, 2017 as Assistant Professor (Entomology). He obtained his M.Sc. Ag. (Entomology) and Ph.D.(Entomology) from G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology,Pantnagar. Dr. Kumar qualified ASRB, NET in Agricultural Entomology and Plant Protection in 2008 and 2010. He joined S.G.R.R. (PG.) College Dehradun in year 2008 and served there as Assistant Professor (Entomology) till June, 2017. He worked as Senior Research Fellow under the project entitled “Efficacy of auto-confusion technique for management of yellow stem borer in basmati and non-basmati rice” at G.B. Pant Univ. of Agric. & Tech., Pant Nagar during year 2007 He published 16 research papers,six research articles and two book chapters in various journals of national and international repute. He also supervised one minor research project funded by UGC entitled as “Development and promotion of IPM in major vegetables of Dehradun District of Uttarakhand as Principal Investigator. Currently Dr. Kumar is supervising/guiding 12 PG and two Ph.D. students in Entomology. He received best Teacher Award by Bharat Vikas Parishad, Dehradun in Year 2015 for his valuable contribution for Teaching & Research in the field of Entomology. A beautiful collection of Insect Pests of Dehardun region is also maintained at Department of Entomology, School of Agricultural Sciences under his supervision.
