About the Department of Horticulture

The Department of Horticulture at the ICAR-Accredited School of Agricultural Sciences, Shri Guru Ram Rai University (SGRRU), Dehradun is committed to excellence in teaching, research, innovation, and extension education in the field of horticultural sciences. Research Farm

The Department of Horticulture provides extensive hands-on practical training through its well-maintained instructional and research farm. Students gain practical experience by participating in demonstrations and experiments on fruits, vegetables, flowers, spices, plantation crops, medicinal and aromatic plants, nursery production, and protected cultivation systems. The farm enables students to learn modern horticultural practices including precision horticulture, drip irrigation, fertigation, canopy management, propagation techniques, protected cultivation, and sustainable horticultural production. At our research farm this experiential learning approach equips students with the skills required for sustainable and climate-resilient crop production with following facilities and activities:
