The Department of Biotechnology, School of Basic and Applied Sciences (SBAS), Shri Guru Ram Rai University (SGRRU), Dehradun, in association with Rebioin AI and under the aegis of IQAC, organized a one-day seminar on "Application of Artificial Intelligence in Biotechnology and Life Sciences".
The event featured a keynote lecture by expert guest speaker Dr. Manjit Kaur, who detailed the emerging role, opportunities, and limitations of AI in biological research, diagnostics, and innovation. Dr. Pankaj Chamoli, Dean of SBAS, delivered a motivational address on the growing role of AI in modern education. Prof. (Dr.) Naveen Gaurav, Head of the Biotechnology Department, along with Prof. (Dr.) Arun Kumar (Deputy Director, IQAC), Dr. Manish Dev Sharma, Dr. Rashmi Verma, and Mr. Ravindra Kumar, highlighted the need for interdisciplinary skills, data integrity, and responsible, ethical AI usage in research. The seminar successfully inspired faculty and students to explore AI-driven tools in biotechnology.
