With the blessings of the Honourable President Shri Devendra Dass Ji Maharaj, School of Basic & Applied Sciences organised an astounding Orientation program, which was 'Deekshaarambh 2026', held on 17th and 18th August 2026, where young bright faces of new students filled the college campus with curiosity, excitement, and new energy. We had an auspicious welcome of all the new freshers by the tilak ceremony, followed by lamp lighting. There was a beautiful dance done by the senior students of the college, which was the Saraswati Vandana as a welcome tribute to students as well as the teachers. Then students were introduced to many other things of our school of basic & applied sciences by our esteemed Dean Sir, where he shared minute details of how our college is unique and how it will shape the upcoming future of these young people. Freshers were given a surprise of a welcome video of the past achievements, past alumni, different tours and trips, and countless fun memories in this college that they are also going to make very soon.

The orientation ended with a wonderful campus visit where students were fascinated to see different types of labs, the library, cafeteria, and other departments too. On the second day, students were given special time to showcase their great talents, be it singing, dancing, art, and many more. They were made to play some games that filled the room with laughter and joy among the new students. The day was ended by a special visit to Darbar Sahib, where students got to learn about the city’s founding roots, historical identity, and unique 17th-century architectural and artistic heritage. Altogether, it was a great intellectual time where every student was thrilled to be a part of this amazing orientation programme.
