The College of Nursing, SGRRIM & HS organized a Blood Donation Camp in collaboration with Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital at the Patel Nagar Campus under the guidance of Dean Prof. (Dr.) G. RamaLakshmi. The main purpose of the camp was to spread awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation and to encourage students and faculty members to contribute towards saving lives. The event reflected the values of humanity, compassion, and social responsibility, which are essential qualities in the nursing profession.
The blood donation camp was conducted smoothly with the support of the medical team from Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital. Before donation, all participants underwent a basic health check-up, including blood pressure, hemoglobin, weight, and general health assessment to ensure safe blood donation practices.
The healthcare team guided the participants about the importance and benefits of blood donation, along with the precautions to be followed before and after donating blood. Many students participated enthusiastically, including several first-time donors who came forward with confidence and willingness to help others.
Faculty members and student volunteers worked together to manage the camp effectively and maintain a comfortable environment for all donors. Proper hygiene and safety measures were followed throughout the program. Refreshments were also provided to donors after blood donation.
The camp not only helped in collecting blood for patients in need but also motivated students to understand their responsibility towards society and the community.
A large number of nursing students and faculty members actively participated in the blood donation camp. The event was successfully organized with the support and cooperation of faculty coordinators, student volunteers, and the medical team from Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital.
The enthusiasm and positive response shown by the participants made the program meaningful and successful. The camp encouraged students to continue participating in such humanitarian activities in the future.
