The Mental Health Club was established with the primary objective of promoting mental well-being, emotional resilience, and psychological awareness among students. In today’s fast-paced and demanding academic environment, mental health has become a crucial aspect of overall development. Recognizing this need, the institution initiated the Mental Health Club to provide a safe, supportive, and inclusive platform for students to express themselves, seek guidance, and build coping mechanisms.

The club aims to reduce stigma associated with mental health issues and encourage open discussions through various activities, workshops, and awareness campaigns. It serves as a bridge between students and mental health resources, fostering a culture of empathy, understanding, and self-care.

OBJECTIVES OF THE MENTAL HEALTH CLUB

The key objectives of the Mental Health Club are:

  • To create awareness about mental health and its importance in daily life.
  • To provide a safe space for students to share their feelings and experiences.
  • To reduce stigma and misconceptions related to mental health issues.
  • To organize workshops, seminars, and interactive sessions with experts.
  • To promote stress management techniques and healthy coping strategies.
  • To encourage peer support and emotional well-being among students.

FORMATION AND STRUCTURE OF THE CLUB

The Mental Health Club was formed under the guidance of institutional leadership (Prof. Dr. G Ramalakshmi) and faculty coordinators (Mr. Shashank Manwal and Ms. Deepali Rawat). The club consists of selected student members who actively participate in planning and executing activities.

SELECTION PROCESS

An entrance examination was conducted to select dedicated and motivated students for the club. The exam assessed students’ understanding of mental health concepts, empathy, and communication skills. Based on the results, 30 shortlisted candidates were invited for an interview round.

The final selection was made considering both academic performance and interpersonal skills. A total of 15 members were inducted into the club after the interview process.
