"Children are like buds in a garden and should be carefully and lovingly nurtured, as they are the future of the nation and the citizens of tomorrow"

The Children's Day celebration commenced with a dignified inaugural ceremony, setting a traditional and auspicious tone for the day's events.

With the blessings of Shri. Devendra Dass Ji Maharaj, President (SGRRU). The Shri Guru Ram Rai University, College of Nursing (SGRRU) celebrated Children’s Day with great enthusiasm and joy on Friday i.e., 14th November 2025. The event was organized by the SGRR college of nursing in which the new students participated wholeheartedly.

The program was formally initiated with the recitation of the Saraswati Vandana, a prayer invoking the Goddess of knowledge and arts, symbolizing a quest for learning and wisdom. This was immediately followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp (Deep Prajvalan), a customary act that signifies dispelling darkness (ignorance) and ushering in light (knowledge and hope).

Their presence and participation provided an auspicious start and underscored the institution's commitment to nurturing the future of the nation, as Children's Day commemorates the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, who deeply believed in the importance of children. The inauguration successfully created a respectful and celebratory atmosphere for the day dedicated to the students.

Faculty Performance: A Tribute to Students

Following the formal inauguration, the Children's Day celebration transitioned into a lively and heartwarming segment featuring performances by the faculty members themselves, dedicated entirely to the students. This segment was designed to entertain the children and foster a warm, informal bond between teachers and students.

Highlights of the Faculty Performances

  • Musical Dedications : Several faculty members showcased their talent by singing songs. The selection included a variety of cheerful and motivational songs, often related to childhood, dreams, and success. The performances were met with enthusiastic applause and cheers from the students.
  • Poetic Renditions : The program also featured recitations of poetry. These poetic pieces were carefully chosen or sometimes self-composed to either inspire the young audience or humorously reflect on the innocence and fun of childhood. The expressive delivery of the poems added a literary charm to the day's events.
  • The faculty's willingness to step outside their conventional teaching roles and perform for the students made this segment highly memorable and successful, effectively conveying the message that the day was a special tribute to the children.
