The NSS Unit of Shri Guru Ram Rai University, in collaboration with the Red Cross Society and the School of Agricultural Sciences, successfully organized a Blood Donation Camp on 20th September 2025 at the University campus. The event aimed to promote the noble cause of blood donation and encourage students, staff, and volunteers to contribute towards saving lives. The camp witnessed an overwhelming response and was graced by the esteemed presence of distinguished guests and dignitaries. Honorable Shri Pratap Singh (Vice President, State Medicinal Plants Board, Uttarakhand) was the chief guest of the occasion. The event was further enriched by the presence of Professor (Dr.) Kumud Saklani (Vice Chancellor, SGRRU), Professor (Dr.) Priyanka Bankoti (Dean, School of Agricultural Sciences), Professor (Dr.) Kanchan Joshi (Dean, School of Yogic Sciences), Professor (Dr.) Arun Kumar (Dean, School of Basic and Applied Sciences), Professor (Dr.) Ashish Kulsheshtra, Dr. Bijendra Gusai, Dr. Kamla Jakhmola (NSS Coordinator, SGRRU), Professor (Dr.) Naveen Gaurav (NSS Coordinator, SGRRU), along with faculties, NSS Volunteers, and students of SGRRU.
The Blood Bank staff played a crucial role in the smooth conduct of the camp. Special mention goes to Mr. Amit Chandra, Mr. Vikas Singh, Mr. Kuldeep Singh, Dr. Supreet Kaur (MD Student), Ms. Neha, and Mrs. Amita for their dedicated efforts in ensuring proper medical care, safety, and maintenance throughout the event.
The camp turned out to be a remarkable success, with 84 units of blood donated by the staff, NSS volunteers, and students of SGRRU. This enthusiastic participation reflects the strong spirit of service and social responsibility among the university community.
The event not only highlighted the significance of voluntary blood donation but also inspired many to become regular donors. It strengthened the university’s commitment to contributing positively to society through such meaningful initiatives.
In conclusion, the Blood Donation Camp of 20th September 2025 was a memorable and impactful event, made successful by the collective efforts of all dignitaries, faculty members, NSS volunteers, students, and the dedicated Blood Bank staff.
