Dehradun, Saturday: The School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Shri Guru Ram Rai University (SGRRU) organized a grand celebration of Teachers’ Day to honor and appreciate the invaluable contributions of teachers. The event was marked by joy, respect, and gratitude. The program was presided over by Prof. (Dr.) Preeti Tiwari, Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
The President of Shri Guru Ram Rai University, Shri Mahant Devendra Dass Ji Maharaj, extended warm greetings and best wishes to all teachers and students on the occasion of Teachers’ Day.
The celebration began with Saraswati Vandana and lighting of the ceremonial lamp. Students expressed their heartfelt gratitude toward their teachers through beautiful performances. The event opened with a welcome song that filled the atmosphere with joy and enthusiasm. This was followed by poems, speeches, and dramatic performances dedicated to expressing respect and appreciation for the teachers. The audience, including faculty members and students, applauded the cultural presentations wholeheartedly.
In her address, Dean Prof. (Dr.) Preeti Tiwari said that teachers form the strongest foundation of society. She emphasized that teachers guide the younger generation with their knowledge, hard work, and values. She advised students not to limit education merely to obtaining degrees but to adopt it as a way of life and character-building. Prof. Tiwari reminded everyone that Teachers’ Day serves as a reminder of the vital role teachers play in our lives. Recalling Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the former President of India and a great teacher, she said that his ideals and teaching methods continue to inspire generations.
The event was organized under the leadership of Dr. Priya Pandey, a member of the Cultural Committee. Other faculty members also addressed the students, emphasizing the importance of hard work and discipline. Several students came forward to share their personal experiences, describing how their teachers played a key role in shaping their lives and guiding them toward a better future.
The entire program reflected a wonderful blend of enthusiasm and discipline. The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks.
On this occasion, Heads of Departments, faculty members, and hundreds of students from various departments of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences were present.
