The School of Education celebrated National Education Day with a week-long series of vibrant and enriching activities. The celebration commenced with an inspiring motivational address by Dr. Kanchan Negi, accompanied by the Honourable Vice Chancellor, who inaugurated the event with the ceremonial lamp lighting. This auspicious beginning set a positive tone for the entire week. Prof. Malvika Sati Kandpal, Dean School of Education, also delivered a short and inspiring speech highlighting the importance of education in shaping the nation.

Day 1: Education Day Celebration and Motivational Speech (11-10-2025)

The School of Education, SGRRU, commenced its four-day program with the celebration of Education Day, honoring the significance of learning and teaching in shaping society. The event began with a warm welcome of faculty members, students, and dignitaries. The highlight of the day was an inspiring motivational lecture delivered by Dr. Kanchan Negi on the theme “The Future Teacher: A Blend of Technology, Talent, and Tenderness.”

Dr. Negi emphasized the evolving role of educators in the 21st century, highlighting the need for teachers to integrate technology with pedagogical skills while maintaining empathy and emotional intelligence. She encouraged students to prepare themselves as future educators who can adapt to digital advancements, exhibit creativity, and nurture learners with compassion. The session was highly interactive and left the audience motivated, informed, and inspired.

Day 2: Rangoli Competition on Uttarakhand Culture and Tradition (12-10-2025)

On the second day, the School of Education organized a vibrant Rangoli Competition based on the theme “Uttarakhand Culture and Tradition.” Students actively participated and showcased their artistic talents through colorful and intricate designs inspired by the rich heritage of the state.

Traditional motifs such as folk dances, temples, mountain landscapes, local festivals, and the flora and fauna of Uttarakhand were beautifully depicted. The event promoted cultural awareness, creativity, and teamwork. Judges appreciated the participants for their attention to detail, use of natural colors, and thematic presentations. The event filled the campus with festive colors and deepened the students' understanding of Uttarakhand’s cultural identity.

Day 3: Nukkad Natak on the Theme “Say No to Drugs”

The third day featured an impactful Nukkad Natak (Street Play) performed by students to spread awareness on the theme “Say No to Drugs.” The performance aimed to educate youth about the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of making healthy life choices.

Through powerful dialogues, emotional scenes, and engaging storytelling, the performers highlighted how drug addiction harms individuals, families, and society. The natak also emphasized the role of peer support, awareness, and early intervention. The audience responded enthusiastically, and the play successfully delivered a strong social message, inspiring students to take responsibility for promoting a drug-free environment.

Day 4: Art Exhibition - Madhubani, Gond, Tie & Dye, and Mirror Art (14-11-2025)

The four-day program concluded with an impressive Art Exhibition featuring diverse traditional and modern art forms, including Madhubani Art, Gond Art, Tie & Dye, and Mirror Art. Students displayed their handmade artworks, showcasing their creativity, patience, and understanding of various artistic techniques.

Each section of the exhibition reflected unique cultural narratives - 

  • Madhubani Art depicted intricate linework and mythological themes.
  • Gond Art showcased tribal patterns celebrating nature and daily life.
  • Tie & Dye pieces displayed vibrant fabric designs created through resist-dyeing techniques.
  • Mirror Art presented decorative items featuring reflective embellishments.

Faculty members, Guests and students appreciated the talent and hard work behind each artwork. The exhibition served as a platform for students to express themselves and learn about India’s rich artistic traditions.

Conclusion

The four-day series of programs at the School of Education, SGRRU, was a grand success. Each event contributed significantly to students’ holistic development—academically, culturally, socially, and creatively. The active participation of students and the guidance of faculty members made the program memorable and impactful.
