An Educational Visit was organized by Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical & Health Sciences, College of Nursing, Dehradun, on 24th and 25th February 2026 to Mahila Kalyan Aban Punarvas, Dehradun. The visit was arranged with the objective of providing practical exposure and enhancing the knowledge of nursing students regarding community-based rehabilitation services and women welfare programs. 

A total of 167 beneficiaries (female patients) is currently receiving services at the centre.

  • To understand the functioning of rehabilitation centers for women.
  • To observe the role of healthcare professionals in community settings.
  • To gain practical insight into counseling, care, and support services provided to women in need.
  • To bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.

  • Observation of various facilities provided for women, including health care, counseling, vocational training, and shelter services.
  • Discussion on the role of nurses in community mental health and women empowerment programs.

CONCLUSION

The educational visit was highly informative and beneficial for the students. It provided valuable practical exposure and helped them understand the importance of holistic care in community settings. Such visits play a crucial role in developing professional competence among nursing students.
