Department of Home Science, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Shri Guru Ram Rai University (SGRRU), organized a Community Outreach Program at Government Inter College, Daunk, Tehri Garhwal.
Students of B.Sc. Food, Nutrition and Dietetics and B.A. Home Science actively participated in the program. As part of the activity, they assessed the Body Mass Index (BMI) of school students by measuring their height and weight. This evaluation helped identify students who were underweight, overweight, or within a healthy range.
In addition, the team created awareness about the importance of balanced nutrition, healthy food habits, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The interactive sessions helped school students understand the role of proper nutrition in overall growth and well-being.
The outreach activity proved to be highly informative and beneficial, enhancing health awareness among school students. The program was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Lata Sati, Assistant Professor, Department of Home Science.
