9. Brief Description: Community Health Screening Camp & Maternal & Child Health Initiative
Under the able guidance of Dr. G Ramalakshmi, Dean SGRRIM&HS, College of Nursing the extension activity was conducted to support Sustainable Development Goal 3 – Good Health and Well-Being, with a focus on maternal and child health. The program aimed to improve
community awareness and promote healthy practices among mothers and children. Health education sessions were provided by 26 students. They provided Health Education to 30 mothers on antenatal care, nutrition, immunization, personal hygiene, and newborn care using simple and interactive methods. In addition, health check-ups were carried out for mothers and children, including assessment of vital signs, nutritional status, and general health. The activity helped in early identification of health problems and encouraged utilization of available health services.
