World AIDS Day is observed every year on 1st December to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS, show support for people living with HIV, and remember those who lost their lives to the disease. In accordance with this global initiative, Department of fundamentals of Nursing, SGRRIM & HS, College of Nursing organized a special programme to educate, engage, and advocate for a stronger AIDS response.
“Overcoming disruption, transforming the AIDS response.”
This theme emphasizes the importance of strengthening healthcare systems, reducing inequalities, removing stigma, and ensuring uninterrupted HIV prevention and treatment services.
1. Inauguration
The event commenced at 11:00 AM with a welcome address by Anjali Sijo, SNA Secretary, highlighting the significance of World AIDS Day and the importance of youth involvement in awareness activities. A brief introduction about the theme was delivered, focusing on the challenges caused by social, economic, and healthcare disruptions. Following that AIDS day speech given by our Respected Principal Prof. Dr. G. Ramalakshmi mam regarding the theme of 2025
2. Debate Competition
A debate was conducted on topics related to HIV/AIDS awareness, prevention strategies, stigma reduction, and the role of youth in transforming the AIDS response.

3. Reels Making Activity
A creative Reels Making competition was organized to encourage digital advocacy.
Judges: Mrs. Rachal, Associate Professor / Mr. Christopher
The programme saw active participation from 200 students and 25 faculty of the College of Nursing. The involvement of young learners added energy to the event and helped in spreading the message effectively.Actively participated student group of Shivani bhagat, Anjaly sijo, Mohit bisht, Rahul, Kashish, Lokesh, Heena and Aditya from SNA committees
The World AIDS Day 2025 event organized by SGRRIM & HS, College of Nursing was informative, engaging, and impactful. Through debate and reel-making activities, students were able to express their ideas and contribute to awareness generation. The programme successfully highlighted the global commitment to overcome disruptions and transform the AIDS response for a healthier future.
