Vice Chancellor of Shri Guru Ram Rai University, Dr. Uday Singh Rawat had a formal meeting with Governor of Uttarakhand, Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Gurmeet Singh at the Governor House. Vice Chancellor U.S. Rawat acquainted Governor Gurmeet Singh with the educational activities and research projects undertaken by Shri Guru Ram Rai University. Vice Chancellor Dr. U.S. Rawat also gifted copies of self written books to the Governor. Over the occasion, Governor Gurmeet Singh said that universities will have to work hard so that the benefit of higher education can reach the economically weaker section of the society. For this, the universities will have to make extra ordinary efforts so that all the sections of the society get connected to the main stream thereby improving the condition of the weaker section of the society. Discussing the alarming issue of migration from Uttarakhand hills, he emphasized on reverse migration. He urged the universities to run inspirational programmes on subjects like organic farming and female empowerment. Vice Chancellor Dr. U.S. Rawat invited Governor Lt. Gen. (Retd.)Gurmeet Singh to visit Shri Guru Ram Rai University. His Excellency The Governor of Uttarakhand, Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Gurmeet Singh consented to have his auspicious presence at the inspirational dialogue programme to be held at SGRR University in the month of November 2022.
