World Anti Microbial Awareness Week Celebrated At SGRR University

Dehradun. 24th November 2023. The Department of Microbiology and Medical Lab Technology of the School of Paramedical & Allied Health Sciences of Shri Guru Ram Rai University organized a Week Programme to mark the occasion of World Antimicrobial Awareness Week from 18th November 2022 – 24th November 2023 in School Campus. Events conducted were a Poster Competition& Scientific Rangoli Competition, Science Model Competition, Quiz Competition, Debate Competition followed by a Lecture Series on 24th November 2023. On 24th September, the Closing ceremony began with the welcome address by Dean, School of Paramedical & Applied Health Sciences followed by lamp lighting jointly by the Chief Guest, SGRR University’s Coordinator, Dr. R.P. Singh, IQAC Director, Dr. Suman Viz and Eminent Speaker Dr. Dimple Raina. 

Opening of the Closing Ceremony was traditional with the blessings of Maa Saraswati taken in the form of Saraswati Vandana. Dean, School of Paramedical & Applied Health Sciences felicitated the esteemed Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, Eminent Speaker with the Sapling. Keynote speaker of the Lecture Series Prof. (Dr.) Dimple Raina enlighted the students with her scientific thoughts on Antimicrobial Awareness on the topic, ‘Irrational Use of Antibiotics’. The closing Ceremony was full of colours and flavours of Uttarakhand, Himachal and Punjab Folk culture. Students participated in the function with full enthusiasm and made it a success. Winners and runner up of the events were awarded Certificates by the Chief Guest and Dean, School of Paramedical & Applied Health Sciences. 

The Convener of the event was Prof. (Dr.) Keerti Singh, Co Convener was Dr. Neha Chauhan, Organizing secretary was Ms. Nisha Dhyani and organizing team members were the students of Microbiology and Medical Lab Technology Department.

The event was successfully accomplished by the Patronage of Honourable Chancellor, Shri Mahant Devendra Dass Ji Maharaj, under the directions of Honourable Vice Chancellor, SGRR University, Prof (Dr.) YashbirDewan and Registrar, SGRR University Dr. Ajay Kumar Khanduri.
